Wicked News To Delight The Fair Lottie
According to the excellent Movies.ie news section, the what-happened-next musical about the events following Dorothy’s departure from Oz, Wicked, is on its way to the big screen. Though yet to see it on stage, it is Lottie‘s favourite musical and she can be reduced to a giggling child just by throwing on the soundtrack.
Admittedly, I’m quite excited too about this great story coming to the cinemas, but we’ll have to arrange a trip to New York before then to catch it on Broadway.
MUST BOOK TICKETS TO NEW YORK BEFORE IT MAKES IT TO THE CINEMA!!!!!
it’s on in london, in the apollo, and it’s BRILLIANT! you have to see it!! idina menzel is the only elphaba, although i didn’t get to see it wit her in it but, K assure me that she is ten times better than anyone else. and the girl i saw was pretty class. i really hope they don’t mess it up with a film.
I’d love it if they managed to get the original ladies for the film. I think it’s in their contracts that they’d be in the film version if it was to get made. So exciting! And there really is no beating Idina as Elphaba. I almost teared up when she walked on stage. I’m so cool.
@Yep, yep, yep!
@Tcup Not sure I want to see the London show. I’ve seen clips and the accents don’t seem to suit it. I’d love to catch it with Idina though – surely the only true Elphaba.
@Kitty I’m sure all the original main cast will reprise their roles. I hope!!
Why New York? Isn’t it on in London?
oh no the london show is class d, you will not be disapointed, at all! k saw both shows and i think she is of the opinion that the london show stands side by side with broadway.
I must see it in NY. I can’t hear it with English accents – it would lose too much for me. only Edina Menzel and Kirstin Chenowith (can’t spell) can play the roles in the movie. It should be a walk in the park seeing as they already have a good bit of experience ion TV and in movies.
I’m excited to the point of testosterone deficiency.
I just LOVE wicked.
Must say though, the London cast is great, Kerry Ellis is brilliant.
Squeee…
Well New York is pretty much decided upon now, so we’ll hopefully be seeing Wicked in January. Woo and hoo!
