The Sound System Podcast#46 From Kilkenny Music
I finished work today, went through my usually OCD infused routine. I placed my mouse in it’s holder, I put away all my pens and stapler in their drawer, I made sure my four inboxes were neat and uniform, I adjusted and switched off my monitor (Power of One and all that jazz), I put on my coat and set up my iPod. Today’s playlist consisted of Ken and Ross‘s Podcast 46, which I missed last week. So I finally leave my office and happily wander along listening to the lads manic conversations and excellent music choices.
After a while I find myself grinning stupidly and getting odd looks, as the lads give a big shout out to me and my ‘fledgling bloggery’. So, thank you both for making me that weirdo people see laughing out loud as he wanders along the street.
Ken, you may be right about me podcasting – I’ll definitely give it a go at some stage. Although, I sincerely hope I get an invite down for Podcast#50!!!
The 46th Podcast, in the meantime, featured
- Saints Of Descent – ‘One Word’
- Brigantia – ‘Ride To The Sabbath’
- Acrojunk – ‘Man Or Machine’
- The Lions Mane – ‘The Dragons Breath’
There was also some cryptic reference to DeviousTheatre‘s two new productions. Ken and Ross are clever guys. They pretend to stumble and fall there way through talking about the auditions for Trainspotting in June and another project in August, but it just forces us listeners to check out DeviousTheatre‘s website for more info. You kooky guys! Marketing at its best.
And I think it’s important to back up Ross on this one – the local newspapers are stealing his work. Check out Ross’s photography at Oss237.com, just “don’t steal his shit“. If you want to support his artistic reputation, drop a comment on his blog post.
I’m already looking forward to listening to Podcast #47, which can be subscribed to on iTunes here or on the Kilkenny Music Website. Give it a go. It’s a lot of fun and there’s some great music.
Awh another great shout-out! =)
Cheers dude, glad you enjoy the show! Come on, it’s fun being that guy in street every once in a while!
You’ll have to come see Train Spotting!
Thanks also for the support on my blog rant, I’m told the wrong-doers are keeping a nervous eye on it! =)
Byrne, how the hell are you?
Just been in the Czech Republic for a week with Tanya, enjoying catching up on your blog now. Had a brief look before I went away and thought it might be a tad self-indulgent (though I guess that is kinda the nature of blogging), but I like your last few entries a lot, and the whole thing seems to make a bit more sense as you go along.
Anyway, ’twas good to catch up with you the other week and hopefully I’ll see you soon, along with posting further comments, especially if I think you’re sticking your head too far up your own arse.
Sweet deal! Just for that now I’m going to have to get yourself and your otter half some complimentary tickets for Trainspotting – be our guest, be our guest, be our guest…
Hell, we could even hook up for show number 50, have a guest host come on board!
Not overly keen on Sound System 47 – a slow news week and gremlins ate the first 30 minutes of our recording time (which I’ve since discovered included a dodgy XLR which picked THAT exact moment to come undone).
Of course, now that you’ve mentioned show 46, we’re gonna have to think of a way to get at you for show 48. A new podcast star is born? I think so…
Ross: I’m getting increasingly used to being ‘that guy’. Why be normal?
Andy: Thank you for your comments and for keeping me in check. Self-indulgent? Maybe! Mnyeh! You git! And thank you for keeping my head out of my arse. When are you and T bringing us out for dinner?
Ken: Count us in for Trainspotting – already looking forward to it. And you’ll have to be careful inviting me on as a guest host – I’ll take over. But really, if you’re up for it, I’m there. As for show 47, ye did seem a little all over the place, but the music was good and you seemed to be having fun. So, where’s the problem!?
@Ken and @ Ross, just to confirm that I met said otter in Dublin yesterday on Grafton Street as he was listening to your podcast and yes, his grin was almost as wide as the street, his head threatening to explode with ego pride. 🙂
Looking forward to giving it a listen!
@Darren – pints were good, as per usual. More?
Doyler: Not this evening. I’m going to look after herself.
